Service Availability

Our Animal Ambulance operates 24/7, 365 days a year, including emergency call-outs.
On Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, an initial £50 surcharge applies in addition to the standard journey and out-of-hours fees (covering the full 24 hours).
We provide coverage across the Yorkshire district, with nationwide services available upon request.
Our Pet Taxi service is available Monday–Friday, 8am–8pm.

Bookings & Deposits

Pet Taxi bookings require a 50% deposit within two hours of booking (or immediately for short-notice requests).
Payments can be made by bank transfer or card payment over the phone.
Emergency call-outs require a deposit in advance (via card or bank transfer) before we depart. Out-of-hours deposits are non-refundable.

Cancellations

Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice: deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellations with less than 12 hours’ notice: full payment is required.

Aggressive Pets

Call-outs for aggressive pets carry an initial £150 fee, plus:
- £25 per hour in West Yorkshire.
- £35 per hour in North, East, and South Yorkshire.
If we are unable to transport your pet due to extreme circumstances, fees will still apply.

Deceased Pet Transport

Call-out fees (including an additional team member for respectful handling of medium+ pets):
- Small pets: £150
- Medium pets: £175
- Large pets: £200
- Giant pets: £225
Additional £35 charge applies in North, East & South Yorkshire.

Cleaning & Hygiene

Standard cleaning fees are included in our service charges.
Fumigation or additional cleaning due to fleas, mites, worms, or transferable diseases incurs a £100 fee.

Payments

We accept cash, card, and bank transfer.
Deposits must be paid electronically before service begins.
Full invoices are available upon request for a £15 admin fee, payable in advance.
We only accept payment for our services. Any veterinary or third-party fees must be settled directly with them.

Client Responsibilities

Clients must provide accurate information about their pet’s condition and behaviour.
Sick or injured pets may pose a higher bite risk; transparency ensures their safe handling and transport.
If our team feels threatened or unsafe, we reserve the right to terminate the service immediately. All fees remain chargeable.

Liability

The Big Paws Little Paws Co. accepts no liability for pets that pass away in our care due to illness, injury, disease, or underlying conditions (diagnosed or undiagnosed).

Passenger Policy

We are insured to transport one pet and one accompanying person (only if a second team member is not required) as per taxi licence regulations.
If two team members are needed, clients must arrange alternative travel for themselves (e.g. taxi, family, or friend) and meet us at the destination.

Personal Belongings

Any belongings carried during transport remain the client’s responsibility. The Big Paws Little Paws Co. accepts no liability for loss or damage.

Media & Marketing

Unless requested otherwise, we may feature pets on our website, social media, or marketing materials, under our copyright.

Banned Breeds

For dogs classified under banned breed legislation, clients must provide:
- Original licence and proof of third-party insurance.
- Dog must be fitted with a secure, legally compliant muzzle at all times.
